5 Points Art Gallery + Studios welcomes the public to attend the opening reception for its third annual, critically acclaimed, This Is America group visual art exhibition on Friday, July 2, 2021.

Rejecting the monolithic caste to which artists of color are often beholden, This Is America is an unchastened visual journals of 23 artists’ independent responses to the times and reflections on their lived American experiences.

This Is America’s exhibiting artists are Wisconsin-based, national, and international. Their stories and aesthetic approaches are equally diverse, including but not limited to found object assemblage, handmade books, mixed media collage, paintings, drawings, photography, music videos, sculptures, conceptual installations, fiber and wearable art.

Featured artists include: Ana Edwards, Ariana Vaeth, Blanche Brown, CK Ledesma, Celeste Contreras, Damon Joy, Danielle Scott, Fatima Laster, Haerim Lee, James Terrell, Joya Watts, Khari Turner, Liala Amin, Manny Vibez, Marvin Tate, Nakeysha Roberts Washington, Okja Kwon, Papa Hun (Dameon Ellzey + Haz Solo collaboration), Ruthie Joy, Trey Miles, Valaria Tatera, and Zsudayka Nzinga.

This riveting and always poignant exhibition is on display until August 29, 2021.
